We have all heard of growing plants in pots or hydroponics, but few people know how to build their own solar-powered hydroponic garden.
In this article, I will show you how to grow your own organically, pesticide-free garden with clean natural energy.
What Is A Solar Power System?

Solar power hydroponic farming has taken off and is growing like a weed. Many people who have grown a variety of plants using only solar power are now looking to expand into the hydroponic world. Using an LED lighting system, you can grow almost any plant and produce up to three times more yield than using soil and traditional hydroponics. Most people who are interested in this process start small with the intention of scaling up to larger and larger farms.
But how can you start building a solar hydroponic system?
There are several ways to start growing crops using solar energy. In this guide, I will show you nine basic step methods that you can use.
Step 1. Create a Plan and Find The Right Materials
It is impossible to create a solar power system without a plan and the right materials to build the system. In order to build a solar power hydroponic system, you will need a clear understanding of your needs, budget, skills, and availability of materials.
You need a plan that will guide you on how to build your system, and you will also need a list of equipment that you will need.
For some reason, I think solar power is undervalued. When I do my monthly budget, I allocate money towards solar energy to save on electricity costs. I am always shocked at how fast a solar panel can save me money, especially considering that it’s free!
Of course, I need to find the right materials and tools for my hydroponics system. There are many solar power kits available online. I recommend getting the right kit for your budget, whether you want a small system or a large one.
Step 2. Choose a location that receives at least 5 hours of sunlight per day
In most areas, solar power systems need at least five hours of direct sun daily in order to operate optimally.
The most common place to install a Solar Power Hydroponics System is a south-facing roof. Roofs facing south generally receive the most sunlight. But the exact location depends on the local climate, the time of year and time of day the system is being installed, and the amount of shade available.
If you live somewhere in cold weather, solar power is probably not a good choice. However, you can grow hydroponic crops in a greenhouse.
You will also want to make sure that the area you choose for your hydroponic garden does not have any trees, bushes, or other foliage that would block the sun.
Step 3. Purchase solar panels, battery packs, and a UPS system
Solar power systems require an array of different components: solar panels, battery packs, a UPS system, and even water tanks to hold the water necessary to keep the plants healthy. Since each of these components requires a different price point and size, it’s easy to see why it makes more sense to buy the whole thing together.
First, make sure that the space you choose to build your system has adequate sunlight. Some solar panels only need about 5 hours of direct sunlight per day. Other panels may need a full 12 hours of sunlight. Find out exactly what type of solar panel you need.
Next, you should buy some battery packs that fit your needs. They will store power for later use when there isn’t enough sunshine. Make sure that you get ones that are made with lithium batteries. These are much safer than nickel-cadmium batteries.

Step 4. Install the solar panel and battery pack

This process is called “charge. ” In this process, you need to connect the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the battery to the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the UPS. Make sure that the battery terminals are connected to the UPS terminals. Be careful during this step because breaking or damaging the battery connections is easy.
Connect the solar panel to the battery and UPS
Now, connect the solar panel to the battery and the UPS. Connect the positive (+) terminal of the panel to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
Similarly, connect the negative (-) terminal of the panel to the negative (-) terminal of the UPS. Make sure that the negative cable of the panel is connected to the negative terminal of the UPS.
Step 5. Install the UPS system
Now, it’s time to install the UPS system. Use the screws provided with the UPS system to attach it to the wall. This is an easy step, and you can do it by yourself. In case you need help, you can contact a professional company.
Make sure that the UPS is installed in a place that is protected from the wind and rain. The UPS box should be installed on a flat surface. Make sure that you choose a flat area with no holes.
Step 6. Connect the UPS system to the solar panels
Now that you have installed the UPS and the solar panels, it’s time to install the solar panels. Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) cables to the solar panels.
You should use the screws provided with the panels. Use the screw provided with the panel to attach the panel to the roof. Make sure that the panel is placed in a position that will get the most sunlight.
Step 7. Attach the inverter to the UPS
You have done a lot already. Now, you are ready to install the UPS.
First, connect the AC/DC power cord of the UPS to the inverter.
Next, connect the AC/DC power cable of the UPS to the AC power outlet. You can now turn on the AC power outlet. Your solar panels and batteries are ready.
Step 8. Test the UPS

Step 9. Turn on your solar system and enjoy
